We’re thrilled to confirm that Smurfit Westrock is returning as Platinum Sponsor for IMART 2025 in Pamplona, playing a central role in what will be the biggest and boldest Mixed Ability tournament in our ten-year history.

From 22–27 June, Pamplona will host more than 1,400 players of all abilities from over 24 countries, gathering to compete in over 70 rugby matches as part of the International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament (IMART). The event will take place at Universidad Pública de Navarra and represents the heart of MAGIC 2025 – a week-long celebration of Mixed Ability sport that also includes international competitions in football, basketball, boxing, rowing, curling, golf, handball, goalball, and more.

Smurfit Westrock is once again rolling up their sleeves to bring practical, heartfelt support to the tournament. Their team in Pamplona will be packing welcome boxes for every participant, volunteering across the event, and designing accessible and sustainable materials for participants, and leading the transformation of the UPNA venue into an inclusive space.

“Pamplona and Navarra hold a special place in the history and heart of Smurfit Westrock. Being part of IMART 2025 is our way of giving back to this land that has given us so much, through a tournament that reflects our deepest values: inclusion, equality, and community. We are proud to help make Pamplona an international benchmark for inclusive sport,” says Ignacio Landa, manager of the Cordovilla and Hexacomb Aoiz plants.

Their commitment to the wider movement will also be on the final day, they’ll join speakers and changemakers at the IMART Conference to share their EveryOne initiative – a company-wide approach to fostering equity and inclusion across all levels of their business.

Ignacio Sevillano, CEO OF Smurfit Westrock Spain, Portugal and Morocco, highlighted: “Initiatives like IMART 2025 are made possible thanks to the collaboration between institutions, companies, and citizens. This sponsorship reflects our vision of Smurfit Westrock’s role in Spanish society: as a company committed to its community, supporting projects that unite, include, and drive meaningful change.”

Smurfit Westrock’s return builds on the deep relationship forged during IMART 2022 in Cork. Their team understood then, as they do now, that this is far more than a tournament – it’s a movement for change. Their commitment to inclusion, not only in sport but across all areas of life, mirrors the Mixed Ability ethos and helps to make this event what it is: joyful, respectful, radically inclusive and open to all.

They added: “IMART 2025 embodies the principles that guide our corporate culture around the world. At Smurfit Westrock, we work to ensure that inclusion is not just a goal, but a daily practice. IMART 2025 is a clear example of how we can drive social change through our local operations, supported by a shared global vision.”

“This isn’t just sponsorship; it’s an alignment of vision and values,” said Martino Corazza, IMAS Co-founder and Director, “With Smurfit Westrock we share the believe that inclusion means providing a truly safe, inclusive environment where we all feel a sense of belonging and encouraged to be our authentic selves, every day, whether at work or at our sports clubs. Their continued support to IMART is a genuine commitment to the values that underpin the Mixed Ability movement.”

IMART 2025 is hosted by IMAS, IMAS Spain and Iruña Rugby Club, with additional support from Flutter Entertainment as global strategic partner and headline sponsor. The event is co-funded by the European Commission through Erasmus+ Sport and has received the official patronage of UNESCO. We’re also honoured to be backed by the Gobierno de Navarra, Ayuntamiento de Pamplona and many others who believe in a more inclusive sporting future.

The week will end with the Finals and the international conference “Identities and Representation for an Inclusive Sporting Culture”, hosted by Instituto Navarro del Deporte y de la Actividad Física. This will be a space where sport meets policy, lived experience meets research, and inclusion becomes the shared ambition of everyone in the room.

We’re proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with Smurfit Westrock once again. Their return sends a powerful message: when we work together, when we believe in each other, and when we open up our teams and communities to everyone, incredible things happen.

We can’t wait to welcome the world to Pamplona.
