Floor Curling to lead Mixed Ability sports programme in Pamplona

Having made its first IMART debut in Cork, Ireland in 2022, Floor Curling sets to make history with the first-ever Mixed Ability Floor Curling Tournament in Pamplona, Spain for IMART 2025 as part of the Mixed Ability Games, Coproduction and Innovation (MAGIC) programme co-funded by the European Commission.

World Floor Curling

Floor curling has been gaining momentum globally, excelled by the recent launch of World Floor Curling™, the official governing body for the sport of floor curling. This organization is dedicated to promoting and expanding the sport across borders, creating opportunities for everyone to play.

What is Floor Curling?

Floor curling is a fast-paced, inclusive curling experience for individuals of all ages and abilities. This modified iceless version of the Olympic sport of curling is played on a smooth, gym-like surface and focuses on strategy, communication, teamwork, and precision.

One of the standout features of floor curling is its inherent inclusivity. With specially designed equipment that allows athletes the autonomy to deliver the stones using their hands, a pusher stick, or a ramp, this flexibility ensures that athletes of all abilities can compete together on a level playing field, under the same rules. We could say that Floor Curling is Mixed Ability by design!

Floor Curling in Pamplona

IMAS, IMART and Rock Solid Productions Inc. are delighted to announce that during the MAGIC week in Pamplona, there will be a Mixed Ability Floor Curling Tournament open to participants, delegations as well as the citizens of Pamplona! We want to encourage participation and the promotion of Mixed Ability Floor Curling by inviting participants, students, families, volunteers, local businesses and stakeholders to create and enter a team in the Floor Curling Tournament. No previous experience is required, and all abilities are welcome! The Floor Curling Tournament will be a great and fun way of living the full experience of IMART!
